WCFB and United Way Partner to End Hunger
The United Way of Westmoreland County is partnering with the Westmoreland County Food Bank to combat hunger in Westmoreland County. Recently the Westmoreland County Food Bank (WCFB) conducted a Gap Study and found that although they are currently serving 15,000 people throughout the County there are still 40,000 additional people that are eligible for services and are not receiving them. WCFB and the United Way of Westmoreland County are taking on this challenge “one bite at a time” by beginning their focus on the area surrounding and including Jeannette to begin the task of fulfilling the Food Bank’s vision to end hunger in Westmoreland County.

For a $5.00 donation, you will receive two entries into the drawing for this great prize! Our winner will be drawn on Friday, July 11 at our Golf Classic at Cedarbrook Golf Course in Belle Vernon.
The State Food Purchase Program (SFPP) and Farmers Market Nutrition Program (FMNP) have received major cuts in the State FY 07-08 Budget. This means a loss of food for 600 people in Westmoreland County!!! Read more...
